After hundreds of years of conflict, the human race has defeated his most terrifying enemy, the hordes of vampires. The few remaining vampires have been held in isolated reserves, and most humans have taken refuge in walled cities run by the Church. The priests, trained as deadly fighters during the wars against the vampires, now performing menial jobs, living in complete isolation and marked by their distinctive tattoos, are avoided by local residents.
